Down to the final decisions before order placed this weekend on 550ix...

Dark Graphite Metallic
Black Nappa

So, question is what color wood? Is the Dark wood too dark? I have the light wood in my current 550i and it certainly pops. But I am a bit tired of it...

Thoughts?

I'm a fan of aluminium, it breaks up the black and does nicely accentuate the shape of the dash and door sills. Otherwise I would suggest the Anthracite Fineline Wood trim. The swirly, brown "dark wood" never looked right with black interiors to me.

+1 anthracite is best of all IMO

The dark wood in the new F10 is very dark, much darker than my previous 335i. The grain is barely visible unless hit by direct sunlight. With my Cinnamon interior I opted for anthracite wood with its horizontal grain. It's a bit more neutral, not quite gray -- still has some brown tone. I think it would also look great with black.

Dark Wood looks great with black leather. Be sure to get the Anthracite headliner.

Just an opinion and my ranking:

1. Anthracite Fineline Wood = Modern with touch of elegance
2. Aluminum = Sporty (if I were still in my 20's)
3. Dark Wood = Favorite amongst older generation (Just bought a 535 for my dad. Of course, I choose the Anthracite. Of course, his first comment was. Is this dark color, good? Don't they have the brown?)

You might want to think again about Nappa leather, I have it in my 2008 650i and it wears very very quickly. I would never order it again.

My incoming M-sport 550i is black Dakota with "light" wood. It really isn't "light', it's medium (just as the "dark" is basically black). Still, it provides the kind of contrast that the aluminum does, without the aluminum look (especially since the M-Sport aluminum is a weird 2-tone combination of plain aluminum and damascened aluminum).

My thoughts, which is what I actually ordered is Black Dakota (due to Nappa wear) w/Anthracite Wood & Headliner. I havent taken delivery yet, so havent seen. BOL.
