Whys it taking so long?

Whys it taking BMW so long to fix the problem with the Harman/Kardon sound system with or without navigation in the 3 series? Ive seen numerous posts on here including one pending lawsuit on this forum that show there is a problem and the dealers cant or refuse to fix this problem so why wont BMW just replace the system in the 2004 and future 3 series or face up and admit there is a problem and come out with a solution?

I would be surprised if they would go put in a retrofit unit. For the next generation 3er, sure, they could probably swing it, although I have to think BMW AG is pretty far along in the design and pre-production phase.
