Did the Griot's spring cleaning ala Rip and I'm pooped. Took me about six hours, that's about 4 more than usual. However, the car has never looked better. It shines unbelievably and the paint is so smoooooooth it's unreal. I can't say enough about the Porter Cable orbital, it's everything it's advertised to be and more. Silver never looked so good.

First, cleaned the rockers with bug and tar remover.

Then, washed the car with Dawn. When I first wet the car water beads were everywhere, after Dawn it was just a sheet of water, no beads anywhere. Cleaned the wheels with my p21s cleaner and also washed the fender wells.

Next, the clay. Gotta admit, I was skeptical about this. Got out the old Speed Shine on the rinse water from the Dawn wash and started gliding across the surfaces. I didn't believe what I was seeing, I mean my car was clean! See for yourself, the two sides of the clay.

This was so neat I decided to even do the windows with it and they improved too!

Then a final wash and dry with the Absorber.

Now Griot's #3 machine polish with the PC orbital and orange pad. What a great machine. I've used direct drive polishers before and there is just no comparison. Full control, paint surface cool as can be and No Splattering...unbelievable. Used Griots microfibre towels to remove excess. At this point the paint is so smooth and shiny, you wonder how it can get any better...but it does.

Griot's Best of Show wax with the red orbital pad, it's softer. Wax went on like butter, just smoothing it on and working it in, over and over, until it was just a haze. Then wiping it off, first with Griot's microfibre and then an all cotton terry. I couldn't believe the shine, depth, clarity and richness that came out with this wax.

Take a look...yes, that's my wife's Oldsmobile LSS reflection.

I was wondering if this was all so easy just because my car is silver, so I tried polish and wax with the pc orbital on a small section of my wife's black car to see...it was effortless and unbelievable. Now she wants me to do the whole car, no way!

If anyone's on the fence about Griot's products or the orbital PC, go for it. You'll be amazed, happy and tired.

Now I suggest Sodium Glucosamine for the sore joints and shoulders! ;) Looks great John! Personally, I'd throw that clay out!(or fold it over to see if theres any clean spots left) :)

I'll try folding it over, but it sure is sticky. Getting the wrapper off was a challenge. I used about 1/4 of the bar.
