Passenger Door Window Not Opening

Im just curious to know if anyone has had the same problem like I have had recently. I live in Connecticut and this past sunday we had a few inches of snow fall during the day. After I cleaned off most of the snow that had accumulated my passenger tried to close the door but right before it would have closed it stopped abruptly. I was like "WTF". I got out and noticed that the door window didnt go down a bit like it normally does when it is opened. My passenger didnt realize that the door window usually does this and closed it hard. Today I noticed that on the chrome piece outside the window there is a very large and noticable mark and the chrome is starting to peel off. The rubber part on the inside is also torn. Is this a normal thing? I will take pictures and post, but I left my camera at work today.

This must be an issue in the colder sections of the US?? Has anyone else on this board have this problem? And do you think if I was to ask the dealer to fix it they will do this under warranty? Its very obvious that this was caused by the snow and ice.

I had similar issues with my windows (both sides) not dipping down when opening/closing the doors to my car. Took it back to the dealer, and after two attempts, they finally did a "resetting" procedure that seems to have fixed the problem (knock on wood).

I didn't have chrome issues, though. Hope this helps - believe there is a TSB out for the window-reset procedure.
