Quick recap...I "ordered" a 325i sedan (electric red, sand 'ette, SP, zenons, moonroof) the day after T'giving. I've been hounding my CA for a prod # and got one last week (I kept hearing about a holdup at the factory due to changes in software and end of year maintenance). I have checkd frantically everyday but get the same message from the BMWNA 800 number "your car is in production with no confirmed production date."
So today I'm pissed enough that I call BMWNA and talk to a customer service rep. They tell me that the car's not in status 150 (in production) like I was told but really in status 112 (order confirmed waiting for production). They tell me it went to 112 on Dec. 18. So I call my CA and try and get the scoop. He tells me it's past 154 (body shop?) and should be loaded on a sea-tainer soon. He figures it should be stateside and prep'd somewhere around Feb 28.
Does this sound right to anyone? And has anyone else seen a holdup in their order placed in the same time-frame? I guess what I'm also wondering is what is folks experience as far as order to delivery time? Is this fairly typical or am I the exception? Sorry for all the ???'s guys but I've been thinking about it all day. Thanks in advance.

In your earlier post, you said it went status 150 around the 12th/13th of January, so it should be on a ship by the end of the month, and over to you by the end of February. Did you log-in? the order tracking sight was within 1 day at each stage on my car. Also, the car could have come sooner. Like I mentioned before, I ordered my car on 11/29/2003, and it arrived at the performance delivery center last Saturday, and I pick it up this Monday.

Good pick up, man02195! I was told it went status 150 a week or so ago and I have checked the Owner's Circle website but it just says "On Order" and I've heard of the website being weeks behind the actual status. So I don't have much faith in it. I'm just getting a little worried the dealer is stringing me along when he really has no idea when it'll be here. Does "The Wait" ever end?? :dunno:
Post some pics of your new baby (maybe that'll hold me over until mine is here).

Your dealer should have a direct computer link with BMW and should be able to give you the latest information; he should also be able to tell you the name of the ship the car is on. The Owner's Circle is usually off somewhat or alot, depending on how often the info is updated. Both cars I ordered seemed to be reasonably right on with what Owner's Circle was saying. BTW, if your 325i is assembled in the Rosslyn plant, it's going to take another 3-4 weeks longer since the car has to be shipped to Germany first before crossing the Atlantic. The wait is a killer but worth it - I feel your pain! :D (Took mine 3 months).

Web site not reliable/up to date. Find out actual build date. Add 4-6 weeks after that for west coast delivery.

ieboy,
I notice you are located in Arizona. I believe that your car will come into the West Coast port of Hueneme in Oxnard CA, be prepared in the prep center there, and then transported to Arizona. Prep center will take 3-4 days depending on how many cars they have (may be longer  ), then however long to transport to Arizona. :bawling:

Did you ever find out if this car is being built at Rosslyn? It made quite a difference for me. I think mine sat at the dock in Durban for about a month before going to Bremerhaven and God knows where else on its way to Panama. Mine took four months and a day from order to delivery, and it may have been a bit further along when I ordered it than yours was.
If it's being built in Germany then the 2/28 estimate sounds reasonable.
