I am currently looking for a set of dedicated snow tires/wheel.
Does anyone know if these set of wheels +tires will fit well with my 2011 X5 3.5I SE ?

My wheels are currently 315/35/20r and 275/40/20R. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Thinking about buying this set as the dedicated snow tires
Pirelli Winter 240 Snowsport Tires
Size - 265/35 R 18 97V N3
Size- 225/40 R 18 97V N3

Does it make sense to have staggered snow tires?

Are you asking someone to do the tire size comparison math for you? Do you not know how to do this? Just asking to make sure I understand your question. Directionally, the 18" snow tires will be a LOT shorter/smaller diameter than your current 20" tires.

I simply want to know if I the the the 18" wheel set up would fit my x5. I don't want mathamatical comparisons, just simply, could I intall it on my x5. thanks

The 18" should fit. But you might have to get centering rings and clips that fit the hubs on the X5.

The X5 has a tire weight rating like a truck not like passenger cars.

The tires you are considering have a 97 (1,609lbs) weight rating per tire.

Tire Racks recomended 255/55-18 winter tires have a weight rating of 109 (2,271Lbs.) per tire.

You realy do need mathamatical comparisons when purchasing tires.

Weight and speed rating chart:

Also you would only be going 56.89 miles an hour on the tires you are considering when your speedometer says your going 65.

So even if they fit why would you use them? Check out Tire Rack.

My Son has staggered winter tires on his mustang and non-staggered winters on his 135i convertable.

As Norm already said, 255/55 R18 with a load rating of 109 is a BMW specification for 18" wheels. These tires would fit on an X5 wheel of 8.5x18 with a 46 offset.

Norm - Thanks for confirming for lionfish the need to do the mathematical comparison between the two tire sizes. I think he may have thought I was being a smarta**, and did not understand that determining appropriate tire size is more than just figuring out if the wheels and tires can be stuffed into the fender wells of his new $65k BMW. Hopefully, he understands it now.

Since he did not indicate what the 18" wheels are that come with the snow tires, there is no way of knowing if the bolt circle, hub center, and offset are appropriate . . .
