Does anyone know if in the past people were able to retrofit nav from BMW? If so will it likely be available for f10.

the retrofits were not cheap in the past. There much more with nav and non-nav cars now so I would say get it up front.

There are people out there selling CIC iDrive kits that allow the NAV to be retrofitted to E series vehicles, so it is only a matter of time.

Yes, but those are kits that upgrade older Nav (whatever it was called) to the newer CIC>

With as much functionality that it built into the system, I think you're looking at more than just a larger display and the newer controller. There's a fair chance you're looking at other components that need to be swapped as well...and that could get very pricey.

Actually - no! I've seen kits (with full guides) that show how to fit full CIC to a E90 when it previously had no nav.

Hmm, haven't seen one of those.

Depends on how the wiring harness and electronic architecture is set up.
