What is the projected model year for the Life cycle Impulse for the F10? What year will it be replaced? I am trying to plan ahead with my leases. I am quite happy with my 550i.

According to the way that the Forum is organized, it looks like BMW changes the Five Series every six (6) years.

Actually it looks like every 7 years they change models looking at that on a start to start basis. I.e. 1997 t0 2004 in the US, then 2004 to 2011. With LCI at model year 4. If this is correct the F10 would get a LCI for Model Year 2015 possibly arriving in the Spring of 2014 and a new 5er in Model Year 2018, arriving in the US in the Spring of 2017.

With a 3 year lease cycle and doing Euro Delivery in July 2013, I would pick up a 2013 F10. In 2016 I would get the LCI in its second year and second to the last model year. I would get the F10 Replacement MY 2019 in year 2019, Year 2 of its life.

I see your point, but I think that there are two ways to interpret the future of the Five Series since the F07 and the F10 basically represent the same change. I agree that BMW seems to stick with the same body style for six (6) full years with the new body style coming out in the seventh year (with the exception of the 2 year hiatus starting in 1995), however, I am not sure which way to interpret when the future changes will be made in the Five Series. Here are the two options. What do you think?

Option One

E28 (1982 - 1988): 6 years
E34 (1989 - 1995): 6 years
E39 (1997 - 2003): 6 years
E60 (2004 - 2010): 6 years
F07 (2010 - 2016): 6 years
F10 (2011 - 2017): 6 years

Option Two

E28 (1982 - 1988): 6 years
E34 (1989 - 1995): 6 years
E39 (1997 - 2003): 6 years
E60 (2004 - 2010): 6 years
F07 & F10 (2010 - 2016): 6 years
