Wassup Fellas so I took my car to the dealer to figure out why it was misfiring and shaking when it starts. They told me I had to replace my spark plugs which were covered in oil "badly".He said its from a leak but he won't know exactly where its from till the plugs were replaced he want 971.69 for plugs I declined..So I proceeded to tow my car from them and took to a certified mechanic who is telling me my computer is not responding to his computer my sun roof is not closing my wipers won't wipe Idk what's going on..I did not give my car to them (The Stealer) that way everything was functioning. Can you guys please give me some advice im in a bad situation right now...
Your battery could be dying bro, It will cut off electronics as it dies, The oil in the plugs is most likely from the valve cover gaskets leaking, as thats pretty common on these engines. I have 2 great indies if you need one in astoria and one in Port Washington. Let me know if you need any contact info.
I agree that I would not pay someone $971 just for "spark Plugs" to be installed. It just seems that the one you have has simply had a lot of problems. Was it also towed TO the dealership originally? I know you've had on-going issues with this car as evidenced by these threads. We wish you luck but honestly, you may simply want to dump it for whatever you can get out of it at this point.
My normal mechanic used to be able to plug in his computer to diagnose my 7, but then I took it in to dealer for some major work and they updated all my software. Everything worked great, but when I took it back to my mechanic, his computer wasn't able to communicate with my car anymore. Looks like a new version out or something that will require shops to update their software. Might be the same case with your mechanic.
Nda its actually just me getting the run around with the same problem its misfiring and idling high trays about it...
