The fifth year of bimmerfest is upon us and we truly feel as though this year will be the best event yet. The sad news is that Cutter Motors will not be associated with the event this year. We thank them for all the hospitality they have shown the past four years and wish them all the best. As this was late notice, the event has been moved only a short distance down the road from Cutter Motors to the Earl Warren Showgrounds on May 1, 2004.

The best news is that the new location will allow for more (and hopefully all) cars to be parked on site. Those who have had to park on the street in the past will likely be very pleased to hear they will not be parking on the street again this year. With over 500 cars last year and over 1,500 enthusiasts, we expect this year to take the uncontested crown as the largest BMW only event in North America. We ask you all to come out to help make this event the best BMW event anyone has ever attended.

More details about the actual event specifics will be coming in time as we finalize plans but in the meantime, we have opened online registration for the public. Please go sign up for the event here:

http://www.bimmerfest.com/event.php?action=insertRegistration&EvId=1

We look forward to another fun and exciting year as we continue to bring the BMW community closer, one year at a time.

Hi,
Is Jon Shafer still associated with this years event? I don't see his name any where on any posts? Bob

Jon is very much involved, have no fear. Tim and I are taking care of a lot of the work this year though. I don't really think you could ever have a bimmerfest without Jon...it would just be too strange :)

Is the 'fest restricted to only bonified BMW owners, or open to all BMW lovers?

It is for BMW enthusiasts so I would assume that does not restrict it to owners. The only catch is that only BMWs are allowed parking in the main event area because of space restrictions. You are more than welcome to show up and enjoy the event!

You are more than welcome to show up and enjoy the event! That's cool, I'm "hoping" to have my first Bimmer by then but not sure. Plus my best friend and I were planning to take a trip to SoCal this year to check out apartments and such and maybe hit Vegas as well as Phoenix to hook up w/ an old friend of ours. So, I was thinking of maybe tying the 'fest into the trip. Considering I don't have the car yet and he's a supra/exterra driver I wasn't sure if he (or possibly both of us) would be "allowed" to participate. Thanks for answering though!

That is sooooo cool, Terry.

Are you coming by yourself (in your car) and/or anybody caravaning with you, you never know, there could be someone that would love to make a nice vacation out of this? :dunno:

What model Bimmer are you cruising out in?
Look forward to meeting you, I'm also one of the many that are staying at the Ramada.

Are you coming by yourself (in your car) and/or anybody caravaning with you, you never know, there could be someone that would love to make a nice vacation out of this? :dunno:I'm driving by myself, stopping off to visit Amanda in Illinois, then heading to the 'fest. I'm going to meander on the way back, doing Death Valley and some Colorado canyon runs, to kill time until Amanda's classes are finished. Then I'm heading back to Illinois where we'll meet up and drive to New Orleans. After that, 4-6 weeks after I've left, I'll be back in NY.
What model Bimmer are you cruising out in?You've never seen my amazing wagon? Check it out here (http://www.tmk.com/bmw) right now!

Anyway Terry, doesn't look like you will be by yourself too much, I checked out your amazing wagon and there seems to be quite the toys in there to keep you company. :D
When you get there we should have the hose and water buckets ready to go, we do the "washing of the vehicles" around the back side of the Hotel, you'll see what I mean.
We will have a big toast in your honor, for I believe you will be the longest traveled to the Fest this year.

Be talkin' to ya in the coming days/weeks as we get closer.
