A person on Roadfly organized a last-minute lunch gathering of South SF Bay coupers. We met at the El Camino Mongolian BBQ, and had a nice time looking at each others cars.

This was cool for at least three reasons:

1. Eight M coupes. That's a lotta coupes! (Plus one Z3 3.0)
2. We were able to take over the entire front row of the parking lot for our photo op.
3. Look at that beautiful sunny weather! California may have certain disadvantages these days, but at least we don't have to worry about snow! :p

Very cool!

What's a Mongolian BBQ? :dunno:

(Oh and don't say "Yak"; I'm (reasonably) serious -- we had one of these in Orlando and it shut down before I could ever find out what in the heck they served:) )

Mongolian BBQ is fairly popular out here in the SF Bay Area...

Basically it's a salad bar arrangement with your choice of Pork, Chicken, Beef, Onion, Brocchli...yada yada yada....lots of stuff. When you are done filling your bowl at the end there is a huge round grill. You hand your bowl to the cook and they throw it on the grill and cook away and then you eat!! Usually a "all you can eat" affair. Good stuff.

Any of you other Bay Area Coupers that can make it next time for lunch should come on down. It sounds like it may be a regular deal in the future.

I'm working at trying to relocate to the bay area (back home for me). The real reason is to be closer to family and a couple of my friends... but it'd be a bonus to be able to participate in things like this.

Ironically, moving to the bay area would likely mean the end of the Coupe for me

I would have loved to have joined you to make the number of M Coupes 9, but alas I had to work and couldn't for the life of me manage to get away. I'm eager to meet up with other Bay Area MC owners now that I have one myself. I'll do my best to join you the next time a gathering is planned!

I think this might become somewhat of a regular outing, maybe every 4-6 weeks or so at least I hope it will. I'll leave any details to his Royal Dorkness.

The look at some people's faces as they drove/walked by was classic. Several thumbups and polite nods and I even overheard some people saying: "What kind of car is that? Must be some kind of exotic car club." <---Yeah, I'm not kidding.
