View Full Version : 2002 325xi problem
Three weeks ago I started my car and it immediately was shaking hard and then stalled a after few seconds. This happened at every attempt to start the car. Fast forward a few hours later and my car was at the dealer (it started and I was able to drive it there with the check engine light on). To make a long story short, first, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Next, they told me the coils were bad and had to be replaced. To add insult to injury, I was informed by my SA that the parts needed were on backorder and they had no idea when they were expected to arrive. I brought my car there on 1/30 and picked it up on 2/13. During this time, after some resistance, I was given a loaner car which was a Toyota Avalon. Does anyone else find this strange? I brought in a BMW and left with a Toyota! To my dismay, on 2/16 , guess what...same problem!! Shaking, stalling, check engine light, they were all there and my car was back at the dealer the next morning. So now my loaner is a RAV 4! My car is only 1 1/2 yrs. old and, thank god, it is a lease! My SA has called me to question me on my driving habits and wanted to know if I let the car warm up before I drive it and I am starting to get insulted by his questions. They still don't know what is wrong with it. This experience dissappointed me to the point that I will not lease a BMW again. :bawling:

I'm getting really dissapointed with BMW service giving us really ****ty cars as loaners.
They're 1. hesitant to give us loaner cars, 2. they give us crap cars! WTF!
Also, the dealership that I bought my car from, Denville BMW, in New Jersey, has the worst parking lot. In fact, they only have about 3 or 4 spaces for cars to park their cars in, and that too, they have their lot filled up so I have to reverse-drive-reverse-drive in order to even to leave the damn service lot!
Someone needs to do something about this-I might just complain about this to BMWNA.

Check out the ZHP problems. They are exactly like your 325i . I bet this problem exists all across the BMW 3 series. I posted to the ZHP problems righr at the end of the 60 plus replies. I had a similar problem with my 1980 BMW. 23 year ago : ) I was going to buy a new one but not now. A person can live with lots of problems with a car but not stalling. It is dangerous.

***have the dealership recheck their work, it is possible they replaced the faulty ign coils with the same batch that were faulty (off the parts shelf) they should be checking them to make sure they are the new bremi coils. you also could be running to rich on fuel & they could mis-interpret codes & it could be an 02 sensor problem. your toyota loaners will only remind you how much you miss your bmw.
