I have 225/50/16 on now on my e36 328i. I called a wheel shop for wheel and tire package. This is what they offered me, four 8.5 wheels with 225/40/18 front and 245/40/18 rear. Is this going to work with no or little fender rolling? They also offered me a 255/35/18 for the rear as an option if i plan to do fender rolling. My question is how much fender rolling needs to take place to fit a 255/35/18? What would be the right set up if i want to stager the tires? Also for the front 225/40/18 seems kind of wrong, for example the load capacity on a 225/40/18 vs. 225/50/16 is about 100 lb off is this going to be a problem?? would a 235/40/18 work better and would it fit??? :bawling:

Thanks for your info :)

I'd say there is very little chance of fitting the 245/40R18 on the rear of any E36. 255/35R18 usually needs some fender lip rolling, and 235/40R18 is borderline as well, especially if the car will be lowered. 225/40R18 is very common to use on E36 as well as E46. If you're going to be loading up the car to its maximum payload, use more inflation pressure in the tires to help make up for the difference in load capacity in the tires.
