Just found out today that our 2010 GT has this recall outstanding. The car was sold by the dealer with the recall outstanding. Whether they knew it was outstanding or not is unknown, but now we have to take it in for the recall. We hve never received a recall notice at all.

Got a call from BMW of Encinitas (not our dealer of choice anymore) yesterday who says they NOW have a procedure to check all cars on the lot each week against recall lists, something they acknowledge they should have been doing all along. Leave it to the customer to get screwed and inconvenienced is the main reason we moved all our business away from this dealer. Three cars from there and never again! It's amazing how many better dealers there are when you just look around and refuse to be content sticking close to home!
