Need Help: Display video on NAV display (or composite video to RGB)

I'm integrating my own video source (mini PC) to my NAV system ('04 X5/E53).

Is there an easy way to plug in composite video?

The research I've done so tells me that the NAV system doesn't have a composite video input pin, but has RGB with separate sync signals. So am thinking of converting the composite video.

Have you done custom installs to do this? or have insight on how to do the conversion?

I am also interested in this, and have been soing some research myslef, there is 1 easy way Nav-TV but it is expensive.
I think you could, worst case without using any special adapters yet, if you found the correct wires signal and shield for all 3 colors and use 6 relays to bypass the signal from the NAV to any DVD video source and use the aux in for sound. It has to work right? I just dont want to do too much cutting and experimenting on my new car.
Does anyone have the Pin diagram with colors and functions for the MKIV DVD nav system, then I would be more comfortable doing this hopefully finding a way for all of us to have a much cheaper solution to NAV TV.
I am surprised that anywhere I have read no one has tried this yet.

I have a dvd player wich i recovered from my "old" car... like to use it in this one without the "huge"cost of a tv on nav module...

Hope anyone finds a wiring scheme...

One of the simplest way: This company sales a cable for extern-units (e.g. DVD, Mp3 etc.) so you can install externas.

I have used a composite-to-RGBs adapter from these people in my Mazda RX-8.
The BMW kit looks a lot easier to install.
