I know this is pure speculation, but I bet there would be a ton of people interested in ED on a 1er. Especially if there is a discount. Normally there isnt a ED option for cars in the 20k price range. :dunno: What do you guys think?

Since it's built in Germany, and US models (2 series coupe & convertible) will cost $30k+ loaded, I'm sure it'll be offered.

How could BMW possibly lose money on that deal?! I'll say it again, how could BMW possibly lose money on that deal?!?!?! YEAH!!!

Cause it's not legal unless the 1 is crash tested and emissions certified for the US market. So to sell a few hundred ED cars, they have to spend millions to the US government? Never happen.

3 years later, I'm diggin it up from the grave!
Now that the 1 IS confirmed in the US, how about that European delivery now? It is built north of Munich, right?
I'm already thinking of my next vacation :)

The 1 series is built in Regensburg along with the 3 series coupes and convertibles. Took a tour on 4/16, AWESOME! I am ready to do an ED next spring on a 1 series if they are offered to US customers by then. Would be a nice replacement for my MINI S cabrio.
