Ron,

I figured I would ask in public so we could start building up the archives here.

I got all the parts I need for 7-series door open lighting. It's a shame my $18.5K VW came with door lights and the Coupe did not. VW came with glovebox, footwell, and rear passenger reading lights too...

Do you have dimensions for location on the door panels for these? They are deeper than I thought and I am nervous about colliding with the window glass.

Are you referring to the strip of LEDs that appear to shine down on E65 doors when open? E46s don't have any lights in the door which is kinda stupid, IMO.

Are you talking about the ones in the following pic or the puddle lights?

If the door open warning light shown, one would have to try it to see. Didn't appear to be much room inside. I planned on mounting them on the vertical flat just below the door latch pocket opening. Right now I have stick on reflectors there.

Yep, those are they. I think they're too deep for mounting on the door panel. I don't want to cut metal though.

I'll look at the deapth of the VW ones. The VW's are half red/half white for puddles.

337 is nice. Really nice.

LeatherZ was going to buy one, but we gave up our spot too. Bought an 02 Z3 Coupe instead. Production date is this Friday.

Now we're trying to figure out how to get a Cooper for development work.

Now that Cooper is 'NICE' too :)
