View Full Version : Volunteers Needed

Shortly we will begin assembling a small army of Bimmerfest Warriors to assist in the execution of the event. We unfortunately don't have Cutter Motors' staff at our disposal, so we will need help expediting set-up and operational issues....

If anyone is interested is helping us out, kindly add your name to this thread.

Thanks in advance,
--Jon

I'll need some time to stretch out (I'm driving in from New York, after all :D) and wash / detail my car, but after that I'm yours. I'll be at the Ramada, which is apparently only a block away or so.

I'm in Fri, AM. Staying with SoCal group. Ready to help out Fri. PM and Sat. Will the helpers have any way to be identified during the event? If, for instance, someone wanted a question answered, would he find a guy in a Bimmerfest shirt or something?

Mistah Shafer: So, when should the sources of cheap labor, er, volunteers, arrive in Santa Barbara? Doubtless there'll be a strategy meeting in the Shafer Situation Room (doubtless a local, renowned watering hole)?

Should I make plans to stay overnight? - I was just going to drive up from The Land Of Bovine Living, work, then go back - it sounds like you'll need people for couple of days, even a week or more?

Dear Mrs. "A",

You just might want to arrive the night before.

We plan on getting started very early Saturday (sunrise??)... :)

I will be coming up on Friday (just made the hotel reservations) so I can help out.

How will the volunteer logistics work? Or should we just show up before the crack of dawn at the site?

I can live with that, though, so long as we continue the tradition of generous partying and drunkenness Saturday night :D

Um, so where is the info re: when/where the volunteers are going to meet, what needs to be done, etc.? I'm planning on driving up Friday (leaving later than I'd hoped due to work) and staying with a friend, and we're only a few days out now, and it'd help to have at least some of this info.

I will post all relevant info here in this thread later this week.

Don't worry about anything - especially getting to the event super early,
or anything like that. Your volunteership is intended to be casual and fun...

Yes, even though the Thirteenth Amendment To The Constitution Of The United States Of America prohibits slavery within these United States, and I thought I had been free for the last hundred years :p alas, I am forced to work this weekend  :bawling: :tsk:

Sadly, I won't be able to help out or join y'all for all the fun and festivities; I will be slaving over a hot keyboard (in addition to some Mom duties that I couldn't get out of ... well, when you have kids and a job, these things happen).

I hope this Bimmefest kicks some serious butt! Say hello to 'chpahoy' if you see him or any of his CHP brethren (who hopefully won't be writing y'all any tickets :bigpimp: ).

I'd still like to order a Bimmerfest shirt, if any are left...
