I am not going to be racing my 95 325i convertible, so I am not looking for performance. Is it still a good idea to go with this kit? http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/more_info.cgi?pn=101P-E36-P062&catalog_description=Rear%20Shock%20Mount%20Upgrade %20Kit%2C%20OEM%2C%20BMW%203%20Series%20%281984-2004%29

It comes with shock mount, gasket, spacer/reinforcement plate, and nuts. Would I need anything else, like a spacer plate/washer, on the car right above the bump stop?

i like the reinforcement plates, but the mounts themselves are a weak point. i had oe units and destroyed them in less than 3 months. this was with just daily driving. i upgraded to turner motorsport units. love em!!

you should be able to use the reinforcements with upgraded mounts. that's my suggestion.

Yeah, the OEM design is garbage. I'd go with the RSM kit from either Turner Motorsport, Ground Control, or Rogue Engineering.

I used the RSM reinforcements with upgraded mounts on my 328. Not fitment problems and no problems yet.

One thing to note for the OP: You must buy reinforcement plates specifically for convertibles. The standard (hardtop) reinforcement plates will not work on a convertible E36.
