What's the best way to clean/polish the exhaust tip? I have a 2008 335i and can't seem to get the black stuff off.

Seems like using 0000 superfine steel wool and polish should do the trick, but i was wondering if anybody has a better idea.

Any good metal polish will remove it. My go to is poorboys world Pro-polish 2 (metal polish) or semi-chrome is another and the one that I use on Harleys. 0000 steel wool will also remove the bulk of the black stuff, the polish will take the rest off

This stuff works great. You can find it at the grocery store. My wife uses it to clean stainless shell pans, but it works great in the stainless exhaust tips.

Ha, use the same stuff with light steel wool. Seems to do the trick about every 3-4 months.

Bar Keeper's Friend and 0000 steel wool did the trick on the exhaust tips...looks like new. Next is to put the sealant on.
