CEO Henrik Fisker said that the BMW engine was an obvious choice as BMW is recognized for having the "best and most fuel efficient gasoline engines in the world." Project Nina will enable the company to expand operations as it's priced at US$50,000, making it more affordable than the Fisker Karma. It will be offered in other markets as well. Three body types are available: a sedan, a shooting-brake, and a cabrio.

Project Nina is a hybrid car with electrical drive train components built from experience learned on the Karma and the BMW turbo 4 banger being used as a 'range extender" allowing for 300 mile plus range. The Nina's has been described by Vice-President Biden as "it looks like a four-door Ferrari, I can't believe it's only going to be $40,000".

Add BMW turbo power to a 4 door Ferrari, that costs $40K and is green and Fisker has a real winner on there hands.
