I need new tires for my 2001 325ci. I've been reading up on tires for the past couple of months. Based on what I've read on here and on TireRack, I had decided to go with the ContiExtremeContacts. However, when I went to TireRack.com today to buy them, I happened upon a review that rated the Pirelli's higher than the Conti's. Both tires seem to get good reviews, but the Contis have many more reviews than the Pirelli's. I did a search on Bimmerfest, and found some posts here and there about the Pirelli's.
So, short story long, which of the two would you recommend?

From testing, we've found the Pirelli has a bit better steering response and dry handling, while the Conti Extremes have a softer ride, and better snow capability.
If you do order from us, be sure to refer to 'gary/bimmerfest' in the 'previous contact' box. A portion of the proceeds goes to support the Bimmerfest site.

Unless you like pushing the car to it's limit on a regular basis, I can guarantee you that you will not feel a significant difference between the two tires.
The only time you should really worry about performance or grip is when you're looking at ultra high performance tires. For all seasons tires, let your wallet do the shopping. Narrow it down to what you're looking for out of your tire, be it comfort, wear and durability, tire noise, or price.
Personally I've had really good experience with the higher end NERO (not the M+S), and I've also had really good experience with the ContiSportsContact II.
Can't really go wrong with either, and I'll bet you won't be able to tell much difference between the two either.

Thanks for the replies. Gary, I will be sure to note bimmerfest accordingly in the comments section.
