BMW releases two new power kits for the 135i, 335i and X6. Adding more invigorating horsepower and torque from the already potent turbo charged inline 6 cylinder N54 and N55 engines. All model year 135i and 335i can upgrade as well as the and X6 up to 04/10 production. The retrofitted can be installed at any BMW centers or via the Port Installation Program to an unprecedented level of performance. These new Power Kits ensure that new and current owners alike who are in for that extra thrill beyond the already blistering fast stock performance have a way to get their POWER fix.

Version 1 Power Kit - Performance-Optimized Engine Software
This version of the Power Kit was first introduced on the 335i BMW Performance Edition model (announced in July, 2011). Available for all Model Year 135i and 335i vehicles. Also available for X6 vehicles produced up to 04/2010.

Version 2 Power Kit
Same engine performance software as Version 1, plus an Auxiliary Water Cooler and an Enhanced Radiator Fan to reduce the higher thermal stresses on the engine during extreme driving. Available for all Model Year 135i and 335i vehicles.

To coincide with this exciting announcement of two new Power Kit versions, BMW is offering a special introductory price on all Power Kits from now until the end of 2011!


Special pricing for the Version 1 Power Kit is $599 MSRP* (including Power Kits for X6 Models).
Special pricing for the Version 2 Power Kit is $1,199 MSRP* (this price does not include the additional air ducts or other components that may be needed to install the Version 2 Power Kit).


Power Kit Highlights

Horsepower is increased to 320hp (20hp increase).
Torque is increased to 332 lb-ft (when equipped with an automatic transmission) and 317 lb-ft (when equipped with a manual or DCT transmission).
Faster acceleration for the 335i - 0.2 seconds faster from 0 mph to 60 mph and half a seconds faster from 50 mph to 75 mph.
"Exhaust burble" sound during engine overrun conditions (new feature).
Specially developed in-house by BMW engineers to work with 135i and 335i vehicles.
Vehicles retain the original emission certification.
Vehicles maintain the original fuel efficiency ratings.
The vehicle's original BMW Limited Warranty is not affected.

I checked with BMW and before they will certify a product like this each car has to be extensively tested. They started with 135 and 335 because they are the bigger and prime market for this product. Now that this is in the market I hope they start the testing process for the F10 535 next!

OK, mine’s in the shop today for a couple of minor issues and it just didn’t make much sense to make it leave there without the “Level 1” upgrade.

I’ll post the result when I get it back tomorrow or Thursday.

So even though this is for the N55, I will not be able to get it on an F10 535 or will dealers be "flexible" on this?

If BMW NA isn't backing it for the 535 then I doubt the dealership is going to install it. If they did you wouldn't have the warranty either so it would negate the major benefit of the kit, which is the factory warranty.

I hope BMW rolls out the 535 kit soon!

Looking forward to reading about your impressions. Though it will only make me want the upgrade more for my 09 535. If the factory does not release something - a Cobb AP is the next step.

Either by BMW of aftermarket?

I would like to squeeze some more power out of the car, and hear deisel has unlimited potential.

Just picked it up and drove it from the dealer to my office......maybe 2 miles. One word WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
