Very nice!

Ceramic or metalic tint? How is side window visibility/clarity? I'm thinking 40-50% tint all the way around, but not sure yet. (I've heard Huber ceramin and Llumar are good stuff).

Also - I've never tinted, how does it hold up to scratches, bubbling, kids scraping it?

Thanks!

Embarassing -- I'll have to double check with the shop to see what brand/type they used! I think it's ceramic, but let me double check. It's 30% tint for the front windows, 15% rear and back. We have tinted almost all our cars -- in general, with a good job you should have very minimal bubbling and minimal scratching after years of use.

At some point, you'll raise the ire of the local police! So, double-check with the shop and or the local police dept to see what the maximum tint that's legal (varies from state to state and there may be some local rules as well), then decide from there what you want.

Love those Police!

In PA, it is the ability to see in either the front, driver, or passemger side window. They mostly stopped ticketing or pulling over for it b/c it always lost in court if the front window is left alone :-)

Either way, I'm thinking 40-50% only so as to not get their typical attention :-)

I asked them to do whatever the limit was; tint shop said 30% for the front; 15% for rear/back for suvs. I'm looking online now and can only find the limits for cars - 30% all around. I can find various posts talking about darker for rear doors/rear window but not the exact limit. The tint shop, DT Window Services in Carmel, has excellent reviews and seems very professional -- doubt they would put in darker tint than allowed, especially when I asked for whatever is allowed.

Looks very nice! I had cermaic tints and a clear bra (headlights, foglights, 1/2 hood, mirros, etc..) as well. The clear bra definitely pays for itself!
