Does anyone have any pictures of 6ers without the leather dash option? The only cars I've been able to see at the dealership so far have all had it and I just don't know that I am a big fan of the contrasting stitching. I also have had experience with and without leather dashes in the past and while the leather dashes always look great, they aren't as easy to keep clean. However, I'd sure like to see some pics of the non-leather option before skipping the check box on my order form.

Thanks in advance.

My 645 had the non-leather dash and my 650 has the leather dash. The leather dash is far better looking. It is also VERY easy to maintain. I use 303 Aerospace protectant every 2-3 weeks on it to protect it from cracking, UV rays, etc. Clean it every quarter with Leatherique Pristine Clean.

Excuse the bump.

Anyone have pictures of a new 6 without the leather dash option? I'm getting ready to finalize my order and just don't feel that enamored with the leather dash's contrasting stitching. Still, I hate to skip the option without seeing pictures of the alternative. Anyone, anyone?

Thanks in advance!

The non-leather dash option looks just like dakota leather on the dash without the contrast stitching. In essence it has a more grainy appearance still looks like leather though.

I'll see if we can get you some photos

That'd be awesome, thanks.

Yeah, that one is even better. Makes me breathe a bit easier.

On BMWUSA's Build Your Own site, it almost looks like even the non-leather dash has contrasting stitching, which was part of my concern. Clearly, that's not the case.

Thanks again for your help.

You don't like the contrast stitching?

Personally, no. I especially don't like it with the red interior (the stitching is red, too), but even the gray stitching with the black interior (what I will get) isn't my taste. Looks like a Cole Haan loafer or something.

have the leather option on my current car but the stitching matches the leather. I asked because I do like it (it's the only option I'm seriously looking at on a new Coupe).

Glad it's an option so I can have it and you aren't forced to have it.

Exactly.

You're thinking about a Coupe this time?

I've owned a lot of great BMWs over the years, but my '08 Coupe is the one that I still mourn a bit. Can't wait to get into a new one.

Here you go. I hope the following images are enough to help you make an informed decision.

I admire the convertible, but for some reason the coupe is really getting my attention.

Thanks for those images - actually has me thinking I don't need the option. I just like the stitched look and don't care so much if it's the color of my leather.

No problem - to be honest the non - contrast stitched dash looks exactly like BMW's Dakota leather.

As far as the coupe vs the convertible...there is nothing like hearing the unfiltered exhaust of this car - sans the top. I love the coupe - and maybe because it's my first convertible - its adds a another dimension to the driving experience.

Just my two cents:)

Those are EXACTLY what I needed to see. Thank you so much for taking the time. Now I feel comfortable that I'm making the right decision.

I'm in Ohio where convertibles have less usability, so that certainly affects my decision. Still, with the (almost full) glass roof in the coupe, I like that I can get the feeling of spaciousness, no matter the weather/temperature outside. This will be my third 6 coupe and I couldn't be more excited.

Isn't contrasting stitching or non-constrasting stitching an option on the leather dash? If I recall correctly it is.

Not to my knowledge, no. I don't think you can get the leather dash without the stitching, although the stitching is different colors depending on the leather color.

So if you elect to have the leather dash stitched with the same color leather, you could have a leather dash, without contrasting stitching, was my point.

You don't get to pick the stitching color, though. For instance, with red interior, the stitching is red. With black interior (which is my choice), the stitching is a light gray color.

Gotcha. I thought I remembered choosing the contrasting stitching...oh, well. It looks as if the surface of the non leather dash is stitched anyway.
