I had an Imperial Blue 740i. It looked sharp and it was between that with beige interior and space gray and black for the GT. This picture made up my mind and I almost went grey interior with it, but opted out.

The problem is that there are absolutely no GT's in my area to even look at...

Do you have any pics of deep sea blue?

No - I was using an Imperial Blue 750i as my comparison. Thompson had one of them in their showroom.

I'll look around too.

Maybe I need to imagine a GT with DSB by looking at the below...

IMO - it looks too blue for my taste. Did you think about Imperial? Then, what would you go with for interior?

I also posted on another site for you to see if it shows up.

I will keep the black interior. I felt the Deep Sea blue will make the car look more sporty, especially with those wheels...

will also make the car stand out a bit..not a big fan of Imperial, too close to Monaco blue..

The roof line of the X6 looks closest to the GT. I think its a good indication of what the GT will look like in DSB.....

IMHO - your original choice - dark graphite - was great

The GT is a Big BMW - Dark Graphite, Sapphire (my color) or Jet Black in combination with
the black trim of the sport package, and larger wheels, impart to the GT a seriousness of purpose and serves to enhance its considerable road presence. IMO variations of black heighten the athleticism of the GT by showcasing BMW styling cues in a cohesive and pleasing manner.

Although Sapphire Black is my personal favorite BMW color - I would be very pleased with any of the choices BMW offers except Orion Silver or Milano Beige - indeed I have always been partial to Space Gray - a long time favorite.

Maybe I am over thinking it...

Am so confused..

:tsk: Been there, done that....

I'm still second guessing it and b/c I could chose anything, it made the decision even harder. I've driven the local BMW lot more than a few times to see what colors look like even though my Space Gray/Black int is on the boat all ready.

What you decided on will be very sharp!

And that may be part of the problem...

The issue is my neighbor has what I think is a DG 535i GT. Looks ordinary to me. Doesnt really stand out..or maybe coz its always parked in the driveway and may be dirty...

As I have posted, I receive many compliments on my Sapphire Black - I don't think you can go wrong with any variation of Black/Grey/Silver(except Orion Silver).

Not a critical factor but since you are reconsidering - variations of black and/or grey/silver -
usually are easier to sell/trade when that inevitable time comes in my experience.

BTW since you are reconsidering color - you jus' might want to drive a GT with dynamic handling....I find it transformational...I know - I know - I'll be quiet...jus' sayin' :)

Thanks for the info!

I tried to order one last year from WeatherTech but it was not being offered.

My GSD says he will be especially happy to have a new mat!

Your GT looks awesome. I did consider the dynamic handling package, but I figured coming from a hyundai sonata and a jeep wrangler, the GT without the DHP will be dynamic enough...;-)

After you take delivery of your new 550i GT with Dynamic handling....

when you find yourself on some bomb cratered city street in "comfort" mode - you'll say "thanks Capo"

when you are hurtling down the NJT feeling very connected and in control in "sports" mode - you'll say "thanks Capo"

when you push that twin turbo 400 HP - 450 ft/lbs Torque on some two lane switch back in "sports+" mode - you'll say "thanks Capo"

Dynamic Handling allows you to tailor the suspension and steering to road conditions. I use it every day and I find it greatly increases the enjoyment of my GT. IMO Dynamic Handling feels very Gran Turismo! :D

jus' sayin' - I really will be quiet now...

Here, I found a DSB GT on some aussie site:

http://www.carsales.com.au/all/aus/bmw/535i/0/gran-turismo-steptronic/

My personal best color is Vermillion red, (or any kind of red, for that matter) but it's not offered on the GT and I wasn't willing to spend an extra $2k ~$5k to get it, plus wait another 3/4 months for the special order... (my X5 is VR and it looks great, at least to me :) ).

The DSB looks good, but is a little too 'blue' for my taste. I like the darker blue (Imperial) better, or the Blue-ish hue in the Carbon Black (the color i chose).

Btw, deciding between Sophisto Gray and Carbon Black was tough as they are both very nice.

Thank for the link

DSB = Sporty

DGII = Sporty + classy...

I'll stick with DGII

Thanks guys.
