New Land Rover

I was just about to buy a X5 but I think I am going to wait to see the new Land Rover LR3 (Discovery replacement). It looks like a baby Range Rover. This site has more info:

I really don't like the rear end treatment its too square and boxy.

I imagine they are great off-road...but my concern with RR has always been reliability. Not that the X5 is a Swiss watch, but everyone I know who had a RR had a lot of problems. Now that they are owned by Ford that will likely change.

It will never handle like a BMW though, which I why I bought mine instead of the Land Cruiser I had my eye on.....

The Discovery had the worst handling I ever test drove. Do yourself a favor. Go for the X.

Wow, you must be quite...something...to go for that high quality British engineering. I hear Ford is addressing the quality control problems with Land Rover by bringing in the QA team from Jaguar...

It’s hard to resist the LR as I am British (lived in the US since ’98); going to the NY Auto Show next week to check it out.
