Which one and why? Consider any criteria you desire. (PS, I dunno if all of these would be considered pocket rockets, and I'm sure I left some off, so editorialize at will.)
BMW M1 because of RDW! Or MCS just because of its size and style.

The M1 because it's a supercar! Duh! :p
I don't know what you're calling an M1, but this is the real M1:

My vote goes to the Mini. Yes, it is FWD, but the Mini ONE I drove was a blast. I can only imagine a Cooper S being even more so.

M1 (actually M2) is the only one we may never get to buy in the US. Bastards.

I voted for the R32 because it's great granddad coined the phrase "pocket rocket" in the first place. The Rabbit GTI.

For some reason, I knew you'd pick the VW. ;)

The M1 because BMW has needed to put a car like this out for a while, I guess since the absence of the M coupe/ roadster. My uncle just picked up a 2002tii as a fun side car, odds are we'll be seeing the M1/ M2 in our family at some point for the fun factor and sportiness the new baby M's will likely provide. Plus I think it will look better than most of the other available choices on that list.
Are we going to get the Audi S3 on this side of the pond?

Yes, in wagon form. But I think Audi's new front end style is hideous.

It's okay, except for the cheesy louvers in the fascia.

I don't know. The pic with the car with the A6/A8-like grill treatment looks PSed.
All I can say is I hope that treatment doesn't carry over to the A3/S3/A4/S4.

Do you mean with the huge looking grille?

I would add a Renault Clio v6, Lotus Elise to the list too, both are cars I would want to add to my dream collection.
Of the one's you listed, i'd take the VW. Really any Honda included should be an Type R

Gimme a rall-spec Peugeot 206. That auto is HOT!!! I see them occasionally when I am in Japan and I drool incessantly.... :yikes: :D
I'd be willing to bet it will not be called an M1.
