: X5 Brake Dust possible solution

Hi all

Having searched the threads for an answer to brake dust and getting nothing re city use X5's, I began digging through brake pad suppliers.

Bendix Brakes are apparently about to release a new pad to suit X5's (front only at this stage) called the Bendix Advance (part number DB 1495) that should eliminate dust without fade........

Will test and see how they go

There may be other options. Mintex (a British company) used to make low-dust pads. Not sure if they still do. Also, there is another company whose name is escaping me at the moment that manufactures these things. If you search roadfly archives I'm sure you'll find plenty of info.

Does the brake pad continue to dirty the rims or does it settle down after some milage. My new car rims are already black with less than 500 miles on it. :(

50 miles of city dirving is enough to take the shine off. I'm thinking about letting them go completely black. With a white car, it might look cool. I'll send pic's :bigpimp:
