Book value is about $7000 less than what you're asking. For poops and giggles I checked the value on mine yesterday, and trade-in is already down to $28.5K :tsk:

that mine is a 2004 that I got in October so it's only 6 months old. You're also talking about trade-in value for a 2003 with more miles than mine which is just crazy low. I know I may be asking more than what it's really worth right now but it can't be that much lower.

By the way. Where did you get the book value for a 2004 model car? I can't find a website that has book values for 2004's yet.

I just wanted to verify you really paid $43k. Cause last October BMW Peabody had actual ads for the 330 ZHP at $6000 off sticker. Right on the website. (due to $3500 incentive)
Still, you should ask whatever the market will pay - $39k is high, but if you say negotiable that's good enough. I'd say $35k is reasonable, but someone might pay more.

I understand what you mean. That is how much I paid. I went to a dealer in NY and a dealer in CT and they both said that these were limited production vehicles so MSRP was the going price. At the time I didn't even know that dealers had such incentives because I had ordered mine way back in August but got it in October. I definitely understand that the price may be a little high so I'm willing to consider any reasonable offers. :)

(due to $3500 incentive)You are referring to the MY2003 ZHPs (there were crazy deals going for all MY2003's), and his is a MY2004. Getting dealers to budge off MSRP off MY2004 ZHPs was/is very difficult.
Oh and Blue book on a MY2003 330i vs. 330i ZHP for private party is only about a $600 difference @ 33.8k for the ZHP and 33.2k for the non-ZHP, so there is something fishy with the KBB system. Based on 33.2k for MY2003 330i, I would venture to say he's not too far off on what the private party price should be listed for.

Thanks for the words of support Paul. :) I'm glad to hear my price is not too unreasonable.

I was quoting a 2003 model. Sorry about that. I use www.kbb.com, as pretty much all dealers locally use the same source.

that my ask price may be a bit on the high side for this car. So, the new price, which I think is fairer, is $37000. Please let me know if you're interested. Thanks

That's not necessarily accurate. I'd say that your 2003, unless it has some stories and high mileage, should still get you north of $30k if you trade in to a BMW store. Not significantly more, but at least a few thousand more than what you're thinking.
For reference, on current model year cars for which there are no established values, it's usually fairly accurate to determine your trade in value by taking the invoice of the car, subtracting an current incentives/rebates on that model, subtracting holdback/factory money (if any for that type of car), which brings you to dead cost for one at this time, and then subtracting 1% for each thousand miles it has. That'll usually get you in the range.

Looks like a really nice car. I just sold my 2004 330CI for $37800. You'll just have to find the right buyer willing to pay what it's worth.
Soon to be ZHP
