One year ago and 19K miles latter – almost to the day - I wrote my first posts about my new 550i GT.

“When you drive the 550i GT evaluate it on its own terms. The experience is unique. ..I find the 550i GT to be an artful, athletic tour de force. The 550i GT is a real gran turismo.”

“Creatively incorporating BMW styling cues, the GT exudes power and competency. The styling evokes a feeling of masculine athleticism and functionality without being pretentious. The upright oversized BMW grille, the long hood, the fastback “coupe” roofline, frameless windows, --and that wide stance, are all elements that communicate the dynamic special nature of the vehicle. The interior is nicer than a Maserati Quattraporte. The driving experience is more luxury GT than sport, but the twin turbo V8 with an output of 400 hp and 450 lbs of torque, in tandem with the ability to dial in sports plus suspension calibrations, makes for a surprising smile-generating ride.”

My first Christmas road trip…..

“…WOW – able to leap tall buildings in a single bound – Effortless is the word that comes to mind. Great gobs of power, a compliant responsive suspension, and maximum luxury combined with the ability to carry some serious Santa freight makes for a great experience. The twin turbo engine is just amazing – to think it - is to do it! …The GT is fun and engaging. High speed passing on two lane state roads – done, ascend and descend corkscrew mountain roads – done, high speed interstate driving – done, urban stop and go – done, make like Santa – done. …”

One year and 19K miles latter- I reaffirm my comments. The GT matches the F10 550i dynamically, while offering 7 series luxury and the functionality of an X5. The GT is characterized by effortless power, and an engaging smile generating driving experience. Moreover, the GT possesses real panache and exudes serious road presence -rivaling cars that are more expensive. In the wild – I often felt that I was driving a BMW exotic. The GT is a true value.

The GT is Sui Generis.

The 550i GT is gran turismo redefined for a new age.

Is that an SL550?

What happened :D

PS - the house looks nice! Albeit a little sad with the small car out front.

You and I think alike. I was actively considering a black/black M3 with competition package before I bought my 6. That normally aspirated V8 is addicting! Car is solid as a rock, but of course you know this..guess you'll be coming back here from time to time. We do know where to find you;)

Congrats she's a beauty:thumbup::thumbup:
