Ok, so I have a buncha questions around doin' stuff to our cars while we're down there.

For example, I might have my Dinan CAI by then (just bough off ebay). Should I bring it down and install it there? I mean, I would only try that if there were some other folks down there who got a kick out doing that kinda stuff with me. Otherwise, I'd just do it in my garage another time.

Second, I should have my Dension ICELink for my iPod by then and Dension will be there. Should I bring it and install it down there?

Last and most obvious is general detailing. How crazy are y'all going to get with it? I just spent the weekend Zaino'ing my ride. I did two layers of Z5/ZFX. When I get down to Santa Barbara, I could just Z7 and Z6 it and be done with it. ...but if people are going to get crazy, then I might order some Z2 to put on top of the two layers of Z5.

...know what I mean?

I guess I would want to know... Who is going to plan on doing minor mods/installs and/or detailing. If you are planning on doing something while you are there, tell us what equipment you will bring and/or what you will need.

thanks!

I'm surprised you'd even ask that question... Just take a look at all the mods that folks have done to their cars and you'll know that there'll be lots of folks who'd get a kick out of helping you

Don't know how many folks are in to ICE mods, but bring it along and I'm sure someone will be willing to help.

Again, suprised you'd even ask... Some folks live to detail and don't need an excuse... others'll just to the quick wash so the car doesn't look too disgusting. Me... I kinda ran out of time so I'll just be giving the car a good wash and then a once over with quick detailing spray.

I just found out Dension is going to be at Bimmerfest. They are just going to bring the ICELink kit I bought online and hand deliver it. PLUS, they are going to help me install it!!!!

I told them if they are helping with installs I'll buy a 2nd one for my X5!

...now if only I can get my iPOD in time. :-) I ordered it online on Monday with a friend who works for Apple. Fedex says it left the Indiana dock at 1pm this morning.

I am so psyched! Bimmerfest is going to rock!

Who else has an iPod in their Bimmer?

Fininshed the evening with a coat of wax, that I'll remove this morning and apply a second -- everywhere but the hood, where I have about a dozen rick chips that I've touched up with paint and clearcoat, and will wetsand today and then polish and wax the hood. I'll finish up the day with some interior touch-up (did a full interior detail last weekend).

ok, we're going to need to talk about hood chips when we're there. i gotta find some ways to fix them on mine. i zaino'd my car over the weekend without doing any polishing and so the Zaino really shows all the chips on the hood now. I swear it looked like my front bumper was covered in snow if you looked up close.
