is it just me or is it really hard to find quotes for our car? they dont seem to have the new 2012 640i in their database and the few companies who have given me quotes have been sky high compared to other sports cars that ive owned in the past.

I just got an '12 640i this past Xmas and my insurance has quoted my car using 2011 740i as they can't find 12 640i yet in their system.
I had a '09 535i and the quote I got for 11' 740i actually decreased about 40 per half year. But after all it's an estimate for 2011 740i, I and I really hope it's the case for '12 640i as well when the car becomes available.:eeps:

Not sure why so many are having problems, I got a quote from Geico last night at $522 for 6 months and a $500 deductible. Only car on policy and right in line with what I expected. This was for a 2012 650i coupe.

Just got a quote recently for the 640i - paying additional $90/month with existing policy on another two 5's (550i, 525i). Not bad based on my driving record and age range.

My rate went up $6/month when going from an '08 650 convertible to the '12.

Sounds like I getting screwed. I do have 4 teen drivers on my policy, but one 6 to the next shouldn't be that much.

Actually it's $3650 per year from Farmer's. 300 per month is still rape compared to you guys.

On my 650 I'm the only driver, I have a total of 7 vehicles on my policy, I also have my wife, my mother in law , my daughter who is over 21 and my son who is 18. My premium every six months is $3800.

makes sense is the toyota x considered your primary car according to your insurance company?

Yep, the X runner is about $340/6 months with the same $500 deductibles and is considered the daily driver. I sold a 335 vert to get the 6; the premiums went up $120/ 6 months from the 335 --> 650

I'd never get Geico or Progressive because half the premium probably goes towards those nauseating TV commercials!

You are definitely getting screwed.... My insurance went up ~100$ for 6 month going from a 335 to a 650. 1200 per year for the 650 and a G37 coupe. No tickets (thanks Valentine 1), no claims, multicar / homewner policy, no kids. Travellers is the carrier.

Progressive $450 for six months. $1000 coll/$250 comp deducts.

***8226; $250/$500K BI w. UM/UIM $100K PD. Gap Insurance. $50/day rental. Extended PIP and Med Pay coverage.

No points on my license--thanks to a lawyer friend. ;-)
No claims aside from two windshield replacements (which I am surprised they don't ding me for given the price/occur.)

Progressive cuts $50 off the first 6 months so it will be $500 for the next 6 months at renewal.

*Whoever posted that Progressive has their correct VIN but lists the 750: I called and they made that correction and my premium went down
(albeit just a few bucks.) I didn't want hassle if I had to make a claim.
