I don't know about you, I do NOT like driving my M Coupe without a spare tire.
BMW's solution of a "fit-a-flat" spray can does not make me feel better.
The "fit-a-flat" spray can would only plug a very small hole and would
ruin the inside of tire. Most likely I would be stuck somewhere and have to get towed
home or to a dealer or tire store. I would rather just put on a spare tire and be on my way.
Also, I like going on vacation in the remote areas of the Smoky Mountains, where my cell phone would not work and the closest BMW/Tire dealer would be days away.

My solution was, since I upgraded my stock wheels and tires, on my M Coupe,
I to use one of my front wheels as a spare tire.
The 225/45x17 tire barely fits flat, in the rear compartment.
I had my Mother-in-law make me a custom fit vinyl cover to fit over and down inside of the wheel. I store the wheel up-side-down and store "stuff" inside the wheel.

I bought the Z3 tire tool set at the BMW dealer for around $30. The M Coupe has cutouts for the tools. Any 17"x7-8" wheel can be used for a wheel, if you use your stock wheels.

The wheel and tire weighs 45 pounds. It adds only 1.4% more weight to the car.
My Mother-in-law has made two more covers, one of the guy that bought my
S52 M Coupe and one of another M Coupe owner.

If any one else would like one for $100, let me know.
See attached picture of cover.
