Soft close doors will be available on the F-12/13 soon and shadow line trim is available for the M-Sport at no up charge. Sitting with my sales manager now.

And so it begins. Haven't even taken delivery and they are already making my car outdated.

Too friggin funny.
Man, that's seriously not cool tho.

Tomorrow morning I'm stopping by the dealership on the way to my office. I'm making B line for the customer lounge. Once there, I'm going to eat two cookies, right there, and I'm taking two, no, make that three, thee bags of SunChips and a BMW water too!!!! Jerks. :(

Edit: At least tell me the soft close go for exorbitant amount of cash!!!! I'm not trying to hate on future owners.
I'm trying to make myself better.
Soft close are soooo sexy.

How much did you say the shadowline you got cost with installation? You're pics are really making me consider it, and I have to start the Botox now before my car gets old and saggy requiring me to upgrade (alimony's expensive). Rant/metaphor over. Sorry.

It was a dealer invoice I signed. They paid. Who knows how they cooked the invoice to impress.

Anyway stated invoice $1800 all told.

Another thread makes a good point.
Incentives up to $10K available to us early birds are now no longer available.

So soft close for $10,000 + whatever they actually cost = Screw that noise.

I'm feeling better :)

Now merely curious:
How much are the softy close????

When I was looking at the X6 before I decided on the 650i they were $600. That has four doors, but I have a feeling that the number of doors doesn't really matter.

Sorry guys, I really hate to be the bearer of bad news and I'm really hoping he doesn't know what he is talking about. However I would hate it more if you guys come across someone in person who actually has them and have to find out that way. I'm just giving a heads up here. Hopefully it's just the M6 that will feature them.

I don't really care about soft close doors, I'm all about the shadow line trim and black grills!!

I remember reading a thread on here about someone who ordered a 650i and found out a few months later that it was being offered in XDrive. Soft close and shadow line are nothing compared to ordering a RWD vs an AWD. Just trying to make you guys feel better :)

You underestimate how much I hate having to close my own damn door! lol. Jk.

LMAO. I'm with ya man... Got too used to it in our X6 that I sometimes find myself attempting to close my 650 door about 5 times. The one thing I hate about soft close though is that when someone slams the door, I can smell the mechanism breaking each time. I don't care if a non- soft close door gets slammed.

Speaking of X6... Have you seen the new M Performance info that just came out. In the video there is a new X6 M50d with LED headlights that are gorgeous. They also put the LED tailights on it (it's about time).

Here's the link:

Wow, that's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. We are getting our new X6 in just a few days. I wonder how soon the LEDs on the X6 will be available or if it's only for the M, for now

I'm not sure. I had followed the spy shots and rumors for a while with regard to the 2013 X6 when I was looking into buying one, but my attention has lately been focused on the 6. I'd be surprised if they don't update to the LED halos (if not the full LED headlights) and LED tail lights for 2013. The X6 is so much more expensive than the X5 yet it is still rockin' the original parts from 2008 while the X5 has evolved. I don't know why so many people hate the X6. I think it is beautiful, unique, and amazing to drive (especially given its physical parameters).

I personally love the X6 as well. Drives like a car with the utility of an SUV. It has a very aggressive look too and sticks nicely to the road for its size. The 50i is not too shabby on power either. I can't speak for the 35i though. Never drove one.

Another X6 fan here. We love our 50i. the lease is up in a couple months and we're not sure what we're going to do.

I'm not a fan of the pics of the '13 LCI that are out so far, though.

Check out the link I posted above of the new Diesel M version. I'm guessing the 2013 will look similar as that car won't be arriving until MY 2013 at the earliest.

Yeah, the M Perf version looks nice, but the pictures of that '13 brown X6 leave more than a bit to be desired, IMO.

I think I know the one you're talking about. I definitely agree. Not the time to screw it up since Mercedes is lauching their version soon.

That's definitely not the one I was thinking of. I saw a rendering of the next full redesign that was a little scary.

Thanks for the link. I'm not a fan of the color combination they chose for that photo gallery, but given the right colors I might be okay with it. At least they updated the lighting. That was my biggest worry with buying it when I was strongly considering the X6 several months ago.

And the roof rails are awful. Hope that's not standard.

Agreed. It is starting to look a little too "blingy" with the additional chrome and the roof rails look too skinny (which I'm sure they say helps the drag coefficient and fuel economy...). The X6 is the designer, slightly less practical, but more fun version of the X5, but it's a couple of steps away from the Audi Christmas lights and deserving some of the mockery it has received.

Eww, other than the LED headlights, I do not like it... It's starting to look like a soccer mom version of an X6. Interior doesnt have many changes.
