As I was going through the 2012 650i convertible brochure at the dealer, I came across this picture. It looks like a 2 tone trim, brushed aluminum with gray poplar wood. I don't remember seeing it anywhere not on the configurators or on part lists. Can it be European spec? or maybe an add-on accent trim they are going to announce later as an accessory (like the one on X3s)?

I think they all have that.

I think they all have that.

look at the console trim below the display where the start stop button is, all the ones that I've seen is one piece one tone, this one is two tone different on the top and bottom...

Where it looks like the color changes almost on the start stop button? I think you are just seeing a reflection line.

That's just the lighting that makes it look two tone. That is all gray poplar. No aluminum there.

Also, if you look closely at the lighter portion of the trim, you can still see the gray poplar texture. I believe it is a reflection of light on the glaze as well. Aluminum trim doesn't have that same visual texture.

Not your fault. The BMW marketing department needs to do a better job with lighting and photography ;)
