Anyone know if the recording info changes when the car reaches the port? My car was supposed to hit the port today, but the recording still says "in transit," which it has since it left Bremerhaven. Just wondering of it will change when it docks or if it will say "in transit" until it reaches the dealer. I know the system may not have updated yet, but I'm wondering if I should expect a change. Unfortunately, I can't get the boat tracker using my VIN# to work. Thanks!

mine didn't update up until it reached the dealer. It was showing "en route". Actually it changed to "at your bmw center" about 24 hours after the dealer told me that they received the car. I heard that the 800 number is more accurate than the BMW website or you can maybe ask for the code. (I think 190 is if still on the ship, and 193 is the code for port arrival) or the dealers have pretty good visibility you can ask them too, they even see the details, i.e. if it gets held at the port, the reason codes. etc.

There's a good post online that you can refer to that explains in great detail how to track your car from factory to dealer. You can find it at http://www.bmwblog.com/2009/07/14/how-to-follow-a-new-bmw-from-order-to-shipping-and-to-delivery/

I got my VIN from my CA, and I was able to track it to which ship it's currently on.

Give that a try and see if it helps.

Thanks for the link. I tried tracking it on the W&W site, but for some reason it cannot find the VIN associated with a ship. I'm wondering if maybe I have a digit of the VIN wrong or something. I have an e-mail in to my CA, so hopefully I'll know something soon.

Hey southern - we traded messages about this earlier too. I'm a week behind you - middle of the Atlantic right now. My VIN is showing up on the WW tracking site but it doesn't show anything more than the date it was loaded in Bremerhaven so you're not missing much.

Do you know what ship you're on? Based on schedules looks like either Tonsberg if you're coming into Savanna tomorrow or Turandot if you're coming into Brunswick on Sun? I'm supposed to hit NY on Wed. Will have to see how long things take from there.

Sadly, I don't know which ship it is since the VIN tracker isn't cooperating. My CA told me it was scheduled to hit the port on 1/27. I didn't think to ask which port that is (probably would have been a good question lol). I'm hoping to get some details from my CA tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know about those two ships. I imagine it has to be on one of them. I'm eager to get it before I head up to South Carolina for my one-on-one with the product specialist so I can figure stuff out and compile a list of questions. That is scheduled for 2/9, so I'm praying it doesn't get held up at the port.
