By contrast, here in New York we are really first seeing temperatures at freezing (0 C) for an entire day. Most of January and February has been daytime highs between 8 and 15 C.

I guess global warming is taking a temporary break. Here in San Diego it was unseasonable cool as well, 15C. Paritally cloudy with rain in the forcast most of this week. I'm glad my grandparents immigrated from Poland and Austria.

Yeah, I've decided that it's finally winter here. Temps in the upper 50's/low 60's, rain, it must be winter in San Diego!

P.S. Centigrade temps are for Europe, unfortunately, it's still F here!
P.P.S. I'm glad that my grandparents immigrated from Poland (and Scotland/Ireland) too, but I'm really glad that I moved to San Diego!

Its 21 degrees in South Carolina, but it could be worse (-10 overnight in Maine where I grew up). My friends in Germany have been miserable for the last several weeks even though the whole time I was there (until Christmas) we didn't see temps under 0C once.
