Our cold weather spies bring us these pictures of the face lifted BMW X1 winter testing. With the X1 approaching the half way point of it's 7 year life BMW is updating the styling, interior and possibly the engine line up.
As typical with a BMW mid-life refresh, or life cycle impulse (LCI) the BMW X1 gets redesigned front and rear bumpers, upgraded interior materials and options. Unlike a typical BMW update the X1 is not getting new headlight shapes or new taillights. BMW is not changing any metal on the car so the shape of the lights will stay the same, but we expect to see some changes to the lighting. While the spy shots don't show it, an i8/F30 style cut off headlight reflector top and bottom wouldn't surprise me.
The big question remains, will BMW now bring the X1 to the US. Insiders have said BMW was holding off for the facelift to introduce the X1 to the US. That means we should be a few months away from getting the US X1 specs. An N20 4 cylinder 245hp X1 sounds like a sweet SAV to me! Who else would pick up a X1 28i?
