Hi all, I'm curious what people find most useful and accurate for European trip planning regarding driving time etc Google Maps or Via Michelin. Just curious how people use these resources. I have found that I think the directions on the Via Michelin site are much more detailed.Thoughts?

I prefer ViaMichelin personally but sometimes Google Maps is a bit faster.
I also like the maps and hotel/restaurant lists at ViaMichelin. But Googlemaps has two advanatges:
It can create a permananent link on the fly that you can paste into a post or email.
(At least inside the US) Googlemaps on Macs and PCs (but not the iPad) has a "send to" option which works with the current BMW Assist. It does a good job of loading the destination into the car GPS.

Since I have Garmin Nuvis I put Mapsource on my PCs and use it almost daily. It allows me to plot my routes on the computer than upload them to the GPS. It also links up nicely with Google Earth thus allowing me to visualize the places I'm driving to.
