Stupid Oil Change Question

I've got 7500 miles on my 530 and want to change the oil myself. Does anything on the dash need to be reset after the oil change? Will this mess up the service intervals provided by BMW?

Just do the oil change. Wait until the Service Interval lights are down to the last green or yellow. Then, do another change and reset the lights. You have to jump pins 19 and 7 on the diagnostic port under the hood to reset the lights. Here are two good sites...

I would do the change and not reset anything.:thumbup: This way as you come up to the factory "first" service you can just go in and get it for free and not create warranty issues.I'm not sure why you would want to reset it for "extra" services you do while still under Factory Maintenence/Warranty.:dunno:
