What is the timeframe for a car to clear customs, get inspected at VPC and get on a truck to dealer. Mi car arrives in New Jersey on May 27 and I am in Miami, when should I expect the car to be at my dealer?

Unfortunately, there are many variables that impact when the car will make it to Miami. From what I've read, East Coast cars are landing in NJ (where they go through Customs), then being shipped to the VDC in Spartanburg, and from there being sent to the dealers. So you've got possible delays at Customs, in shipment from NJ to SC, and in shipment from SC to FL. Then you've got the unknowns of the VDC having to fix transit damage and just the time the car in the queue to be checked over.

With that said, I've seen results as short as 10 days from port to dealer, and as long as 5-6 weeks. Since my car landed in NJ on the 16th, I am hoping they are quick about it -- it's been 34 days since I've dropped it off.

3 of us from Texas did ED in October. The other 2 turned their cars in by October 17. I turned my car in on Oct. 24. The 2 other people got their cars redelivered by the first week of December. My car arrived at the dealer on December 31, 8 weeks after my ship arrived in New Jersey. :dunno: No explanation was ever given why it took so long to redeliver my car since there was no ED damage to repair. So unfortunately there is no way to predict with certainty when you can expect to pick up your car even when you know when it arrives at VDC.

LDV, you Texas ED'ers had a rough time of it, to be sure. Hopefully, your cases were the exception to the rule. I just got word my car is at the dealership, a mere 8 days after landing at port! :D

Exactly! A three-day weekend, and less than 700 miles left in the break-in period. Hmmm ... that gives me an idea ....
