We have two anchors in the trunk and I decided to buy a couple of bungee cords to keep things in place (not move) in the trunk when I drive. Works like a charm! Should have did it sooner!

Re: Bungee cords...the ti actually came with two across the floor of the trunk. But the cool thing is, when I had my Harley I used to pick them up off the road daily, must have a hundred of them in the basement somewhere.

Bungee cords rule... I have a friend who insists on using rope to tie everything down... can't seem to get him to understand the amazing powers of the bungee cord!

I use bungee to hold down all kinds of crap. I held the new body panels in the Miata's trunk, I tossed the bike up next to the rollbar and held it in place with bungee... if you have good anchoring points (something that the hook can wrap all of the way around), they're pretty darn good.

Until one rips your eye open. Your friend is smart.
Been there, almost done that... User error... You can hang yourself with a rope if you try hard enough too...

There are actually four anchor points in the trunk--two at the wheel wells, two at the very back of the trunk. What you REALLY want to span those four is part number 51479410805 - BMW trunk cargo net. Best $60 I ever spent on an accessory.

Four anchors?!?! Hmmm, there's two in the middle of the trunk (wheel wells), then two more in back?? When you installed the cargo net, all you need was the 4 anchor points, no drilling?

Correct... Two by the wheel wells, and two by the trunk lip... I have one of those nets as well, works great, clips right in... Use it every day to keep my briefcase from banging around during "spirited" driving... ;)

I love the fact that the whole thing is like a huge elastic band, and it stretches to cover almost anything I load in there.
I bought mine from this website and paid ~ $35 www.cargonetstore.com It works perfect !

I picked up a new set of bungee cords that have plastic instead of metal hooks - they don't scratch up the bike.

I stopped buy suspenders and saved a ton of money by using bungee cords to hold up my pants instead, I can even color coordinate with them :eeps:

And they double as slingshots.
Hmm, would bungee cords be suspenders or braces?

Voila, itty bitty bungee cord saved the day... and was kind of sexy in a "Mad Max" sort of way... :yummy: ;)
