You need 1000 posts before you are eligible- even then it is subject to review.

even then it is subject to review.

"Review" is a subjective way to put it. If it isn't a pornographic, racist or otherwise objectionable image that prompt complaints from the bimmerfest community there's no problem. Most people here have enough respect for others that when/if made aware of complaints have/will change their avatars even when they don't feel that the complaints are well founded. The issue has come up several times. Only once did someone refuse to change it...so it was changed for him.

The 1,000 post criterion is sometimes waived if you are particularly creative...
:)

If you'd like to submit an entry for consideration, kindly attach it to this thread.

That depends. Who is this character, and what does he represent?
;)

(We all know who Bart Simpson is)

Tacitus (http://myron.sjsu.edu/romeweb/WRITERS/art10.htm), a Roman historian

I am not sure how he can represent anything, however he did write the The Histories and The Annals if that is what you are asking?

Not that I have much say in the matter, but I say let 'em have it! It's classy yet understated.

care to review that statement in light of recent OT and Poli-Sci threads? :dunno:

So (for) now it's twice. In the first case, the avatar was a racist symbol. In this second case, if you find it so objectionable that you want it changed for him, email info@bimmerfest.com. Personally, in this case, as much as I don't care for it, I don't think that it's far enough out there that anything should be done about it for it.

Nothing of what I said before is materially different now than it was then. Most people here, I still think, have enough respect for everyone else to make the changes. Maybe we have one more that doesn't than I thought we did, though.

as far as I can tell we share the same viewpoint on it, but it's clear that other board members feel more strongly about it

that's what I was referring to :dunno:

however, IMO they would have achieved it had they done the exact opposite, it's clear that it was done for the attention/shock factor and they played right into the trap :tsk:
