On my way home from work. I was almost home on the 101 and it was heading south in Leucadia. It was the pedestrian model, the 56? It looked damn good, but I don't think most people could distinguish it from an S-class. I, on the other hand, almost came to a complete stop and turned my head all the way around (didn't hurt too bad). Keep in mind this is the same 'hood that has a couple Ferrari's, Bentley's and older RR's.
I think the new RR would have more street presence though.

I just noticed a large new Maybach dealership is being built across from the Mercedes dealership about two miles from where I live. I was suprised the Maybach dealership is separate, as opposed to simply being sold through a Mercedes dealership. I wouldn't think there would be enough demand.

Damn ugly, IMO. The double-tone paint is looking horrible.

I went past a Maybach "Studio" when I was in the Chicago area recently (I think Naperville) but I didn't see any on the road nor did I check it out.
I did see a VW Phaeton in that same area though - didn't realize what it was until well after it passed me.

Not a fan of their styling.... If I were spending that much on a car, I want a Ferrari/Lamborghini look to it... not a leather trimmed boat...

I passed one a few weeks ago. As I was alongside him at around 70mph in traffic, the driver of the Maybach decided he wanted to be in my spot of road - and decided to move towards me. Picture this - my tail is level with his, but I can't see the driver yet. I'm just about level with the passenger door, but there's no one back there! A quick blip of the horn and step on the gas, I'm ear-to-ear with the driver. He turns, and looks at me. Then he waves his fist (rather aggressively, I might add), and starts shouting through his double glazing. I look, wind down the window and shout "where's your chaffeur". Then drop two cogs, floor it, and watch him disappear in my rear-view mirror...
Damn ugly, IMO. The double-tone paint is looking horrible.
Agreed. On a uber bling note, one of our neighbors has one, and he got a badge that matches the same font as the Maybach badge, and put his last name on his Maybach. I am not lying.

As long as that bus has 26 inch chrome spinners and a plastic surgeon, they won't mind :D
