Okay, I was doing 73 in a 55 and that was stupid of me (It was 7:30 AM, in the right lane and the only sucker in sight). I intend to pay the fine($145). My question is anyway I can avoid getting negative points on my driver licence? Do I have to go to court or take Defensive Driving?

One more thing, do Maryland and Virginia share traffic data, I did get a ticket last year there.

Thanks

Yes they share data. And VA offers a driver improvement course that should take care of your points...

Ask me how I know

As pointed out, MD and VA have reciprocity. Unless you take it to court, you will most certainly receive points for the infraction.

A suggestion for the future.... get a Colorado license. They don't have reciprocity with any states! :D

So how do I take driver improvement, do I need to go to court ? the DMV ? or just check into my local driver improvement clinic?
