Hello, those anyone know what to do to gain more horse power on my 2007 e60 xi? I ve had several bimmers in the past mostly 525's/318's. My intention was to buy a 530/535 for more hp but when i saw this vehicle, i felt like i had to have it for the simple fact that it is loaded with every option and it is still under warranty till the end of the year[always a plus]. But now, i'm stuck with the slightly underpowered beast. any tips please?

I don't think you mentioned exactly which model you have, so I assume 525 based on your profile? If so, the only answer is to trade it for a 535 or 550...

Thnx for replying Jim165. Actually , i just purchased a 2007 525xi and was wondering what to do to gain a little more hp. The 2007 525/530 both come with the same engine. The 525 puts out 218 and the 530 puts out 255. how could there a significant amount of power difference if both models come with the same 3.0l base engine?

The 525i has a single stage intake runner system and less aggressive programming. The 530i has a multi-stage intake runner system, and is programmed more aggressively to take advantage of the long runners at low RPMs and (effectively) short runners at high RPMs. Both cars have dual VANOS and a pretty well designed intake and exhaust, so you won't milk much more out of your engine, save for a supercharger or turbo set-up. I'd trade the car, eventually...

From what i've seen around, there's not much you can do to increase the HP of your engine. :)
