Folks,
I'm looking at changing the OEM chrome rims on my 08 535I to some Avant Garde M310's in either matte black or polished chrome. The picture with the black rims looks exactly like my car. Couldn't find a pic the same color as mine with the chrome I wont. My moldings are black. Majority of opinion has been chrome to keep the classy look but I want to change it up. Opinions are welcome.

Is that chrome or polished? Doesn't matter, not the black.

Not black. Silver looks cleaner.

Sliver. I only like black rims if it has a polished chrome lip.

I'm not a mod guy but like the look of the black. I really cannot stand all the brake dust, however, as my car always looks dirty. So if I were ever to do an external mod, other than tinting which I have, it'd be the black rims.

Its a BMW. Honor the Marque! No black rims!

I like the polished chrome, like in the first picture. Black rims on a black car look dull as there is simply no contrast.

It's not a black car chill so does that change your mind? I have oem chrome now and just wanted to change it up. Tough decision

Those black rims do not look bad at all. I do think black on black is not that sweet however, maybe if you threw chrome lips in there.

Not a fan of the black with chrome lip. Too bad there's not many models my color with similar wheels I can find to reference.

I would leave them. They are great rims the way they are, very classy.

I like the wheels in the first picture ... like Oceans said, they're very classy looking.

There is no queston that I am old school, why tamper with perfection, the stock BMW is what makes it stand out. My preference would alway be to maintain the original design of the vehicle, although I see some pretty impressive mods out there. I guess that is why I do not have tatoos.

Defo black matte!

I have the BMW OEM 269 performance wheel installed on mine. Spent $3,200 + tax at a local dealership.
Should have got these Avant's instead.
For me, I prefer black > chrome > polished chrome.
Black wheel matte looks badass on a black BMW.

Anyway, here are some pics. Any opinions is welcomed!

Wow, never thought anyone would like those on my 5. I am not sure whether those are M5 wheels though. I wish I had black wheels instead.

If I could put the OEM 269s on a xdrive, I'd have done it months/years ago.

The pictures shown are of the Miro 111 not the Avant Garde M310 (http://www.modbargains.com/Avant-Garde-310-Wheels-Hyper-Silver-BMW.htm). I personally would go for the silver finish as keeps the classy look of the car. Here are a couple pictures of the Avant Garde M310 for you guys to check out!

I would go with the black... Looks more rugged and unique while the polished don't stand out much in my opinion. I'm a huge fan of black rims.. blacked out everything actually!

Just purchased an 08 528i with 54k, my mechanic who used to be a BMW technician recommended that I should perform the 100k service as soon as possible so that it will ride better and extend performance, any thoughts on this reccomendation? Thanks!

This should have been created under a new thread. To answer your question, it depends on how many miles are currently on the car. If your car mileage is in the middle 80K range, then it probably won't hurt to have the service performed, assuming your mechanic knows what has to be done. If the car is under 80K, I would hold off for a little while, especially if the car is running fine.

Go with the chrome. The black look just doesn't work on the car.

Don't mean to revive an old thread but are the black wheels 19 or 20s?

Black only shines 2 days after wash, after that you can see everything on the paint dust etc. Silver, white, gold, grey easiest to maintain and looks clean forever :)

Machine finished looks best, but it sounds like you just want folks to agree with you" if you like black ones who cares what anyone thinks, remember it is your car my friend
