Not normal. Go back to your dealer and see if they have another 535 on their lot. Get in it with your SA and start it then get in your car with the SA and have him explain the difference if there is no problem.

When you say start, do you mean starting the engine or start driving. Does it do it any other time? Does it drive normally. Maybe check battery. Could be going into limp mode. Caused by low voltage on battery. Basically shuts down modules it doesn't need. causes car to start in higher gear (auto). Happened to my wife's 02 325i. Battery went low voltage (died) and huge thump and it was slow to take off. New battery and all was good. Might be different on later model. Hope this helps.

Try turning off the AC wherefore you shut the car off. It could be the compressor kicking in just after you start it up.

That's different than my car. I drive without AC and windows open during nice weather (like this week) and never have my AC turn itself back under any circumstances.

I am sorry but I am not sure what the problem could be. I hope you find a solution and have the problem resolved. Please post what the outcome was. Too often I see posts where people have issues but never seem to close by posting what actions they took to fix the problem.
