I got mine from FCP Euro/Groton (compare the 2 sites as one may be slightly cheaper). Also you can use SUMMER10 as a coupon code if your order is over 199 to save 10% (valid until 6/15) according to email

jdmpartsman714 on eBay is legit, I got real Zimmermans from him last month, front rotors for $125 each and free shipping. I love the way they look and with Akebonos I don't have to dust my rims every other day any more. Not quite as grabby as the OEM rotors were but they stop fine, even in panic situations.

FCP Groton has the front rotors (Zimmerman) for 75.49 each and then the -10% off.

I checked on this last night for my friends 535xi. Fcpeuro did not have fronts and rears. Try www.discountbrakes.com.

I got mine last month, well just rears off www. auto parts warehouse .com for almost 130. Mind you they were blanks for 60 each plus tax. I typed into google, auto parts warehouse promo code, and found a 10% discount I believe. For some reason the link was censored when it was all together.

Something is a little bit off. FCP has them for $75 each and ebay sells them for $125 each. Too much of a price difference. I just dont know why the price difference is so big.

Oh sorry, I think ebay listing had them cross drilled - that figures the price diff. Is there any difference b/ OEM and just regular ZIMMERMANN (not cross drilled) ???

Zimmerman have a coating called Z coating that keeps them from rusting. Oem rotors rust fast.

Yea but you can have OEM rotors zinc also. Its usually cost no more than $40.00 for all 4

Nope, the factory rotors dont rust. Most aftermarket ones rust quick. My oems look like brand new.

Zimmerman coated and cross-drilled front rotors $110-$125 online for the '06-'08 E65/66. the '02-'05 are a different rotor according to every vendor I spoke with. Most vendors do not actually have the fronts in stock, I placed three orders before getting them from eBay.

+1

I got the same exact rotors and went with stock Jurid pads from FCPEuro and I love them! They look great and stop as well as before, with the added benefit of less fading under heavy braking.

My 2004 rotors had lots of rust at 30k and appeared to be original. I was the 2nd owner though so it is possible that the used aftermarket rotors on it but with it still being under warranty at that point I doubt it...dunno.

As a side comment, all I can say is that I get so many comments about how great my brakes look behind the 128's from people I work with. I have Zimmerman rotors and Akebono pads. The calipers are spray painted silver and match the Z coating on the rotors.

Two of my peers have BMW's although they have 3 series and 5 series. They both asked me this week if I would teach them how to install brakes and go with the Zimmerman and Akebono setup because their wheels stay so dirty. Of course I am going to help them.

I cleaned my rotor hats with steel wool and they have 0 rust on them they have been replaced at the dealer, My x5 also with stocks are not as clean but also dont have rust. I had replaced the rotors on my e46 a few yrs ago from bav auto replacement made in Germany and they rusted right away. Im sure that z coating is awesome and thats prob what i'll get when I need to change them.:thumbup: P.s post a close up;

For some reason when I replaced rear brakes about a month ago, I completely forgot about painting my calipers & that was WITH the spray can in the garage :-(. How was the cleaning on them, guys? Simple green and fine steel wool?

I just spayed them good with brake cleaner and wiped them with a rag. I then let them dry about 30 minutes. I masked off the rotor with paper and tape. Then I sprayed them with silver caliper paint from advance autoparts. I did this almost 2 years ago and they still look great.

Yea I cleaned it with brake cleaner. And scrubbed a bit with one of those green dish sponges but they were still black. I thought either I needed steel wool or the green sponge didn't do anything. Are they naturally black? Until the next brake job I'll spray em I suppose. Fronts are coming up so whatever info I get from you guys I'll use :-).

The OEM rotors are the Myele rotors which are about 40 dollars each. The Zimmerman Rotors are also SOMETIMES OEM/DEALER rotors which are about 75 each. From what I've read, Zimmerman does NOT make drilled/slotted rotors and most ebay folks buy a zimmerman rotor and put the slots and holes in them which damages the rotor and also can cause failure of the rotor.

Incorrect info. Zimmerman casts them as cross-drilled and provides the OEM Porsche rotors among others.

My mistake then!
